Racial inequality woke
Woke
16:10Long time no chat my beautiful people.
A few weeks ago I went to a talk on #blacklivesmatter hosted by two American hip-hop scholars.
Yes, hip-hop scholars.
Anyway I went there thinking I would write a post on it because it would be so amazing. And it was really good.
I never knew that the whole black lives matter movement (or is it a moment? Dr Monica Miller couldn't decide) was more than actual black lives but a protest against capitalism amongst other things.
The talk contained some sweet truths and clips of beautifully woke and intelligent people like Malcolm X and James Baldwin (you're the nigger not me).
Anyway what was really great about that night for me was what happened after the talk.
I met a bunch of funky woke students who I felt so comfortable with. We literally spent hours just chatting about social, political and racial issues whilst enjoying strong bants and anecdotes.
(Hi guys! #WWA)
~
I'm currently in pre-production of a short film.
Can't say too much - lol actually I can:
It follows a female student through a jam packed day at uni and documents her highs and lows. And because this is me you're (kind of?) talking to, obviously there's some business on racial inequality.
~
Well I'll catch you guys on the flip-side.
Stay blessed and fresh.
*thankful to the Father in everything, I mean, I can actually say that I'm in the process of making a second film. It's God.
** currently vibzing to Justin Bieber 'Sorry'. He is dropping some serious bangers.
*** currently crushing on Shia Labeouf. He's doing the most right now and I'm totally here for it.
